Celebrate mothers and motherhood- join us for Mother's Day 2017! Treat your mother and loved ones to the music of superstar violinist Karen Briggs, joined by Grammy-winning bassist James Leary, star drummer Quentin Dennard, top trumpeter Nolan Shaheed, and renowned pianist Rick Hills.
Karen Briggs, the star of the evening, has taken the music world by storm. She has performed with famed composer Yanni in his string orchestra, was mentored by Patrice Rushen, and was featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show alongside Diana Ross! Karen is the first African American woman to have ever performed at the Herodian Theater in Athens, Greece, the Taj Mahal in Agra, India, and the Forbidden City in Beijing, China. Her talent isn't only international- early in her career she was a four-time winner of "Amateur Night at the Apollo," and went on to wow crowds at Carnegie Hall. Karen is thrilled to perform for our Mother's Day event, and hopes you will join her there!

James H. Leary is a double bass player, composer, and arranger. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, and studied at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He has won two Grammy Awards.
